When my research papers were ignored, and the salmon problems grew, I was forced to look for other ways to communicate that serious damage was being done to the wild salmon of the BC coast.
- I have brought this to the attention of government and industry
- I attended several salmon farm AGMs
- I engaged in every government process on the issue
- I wrote countless letters
All I was looking for from government, both bureaucrats and politicians, was acknowledgement of statement, "we see the problem and here is what we are going to do about it," but nobody stepped forward.
My response to this inaction was to take it to the streets. A community of concerned people has grown into a movement and continues to gain momentum as more people learn the severity and consequences of this issue.
To date, this has still not been enough to inspire government to respond with real, "in-the-water" solutions. It has brought thousands of people together into a community that continues to grow. Below are snapshots of the incredible journey that started decades ago and continues today.
